Melissa Gould earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Welding Engineering from the Ohio State University prior to joining DNV in 2009. Ms. Gould focuses on welding consulting and management systems for onshore oil and gas pipelines, including both new construction and repair of existing lines. Melissa assists clients with the development of in-service welding plans, the collection of pipe property data, and the review and development of welding and repair programs.
Ms. Gould has also been involved with asset integrity management of offshore platforms. She was the project manager for a research project co-funded by DNV and the Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) for the development of a quality management system (QMS) framework for onshore pipeline construction.
Melissa is active with the American Petroleum Institute (API), including being the Secretary for the API Standard 1104, Welding of Pipelines and Related Facilities, committee and involved in the task group which developed API RP 1177, Recommended Practice for Steel Pipeline Construction Quality Management Systems.
